Criminology and Sociology

Sociology is the social science field that is concerned with the study of the human condition: social existence, social behavior, social issues and problems, and how societies function and change. Criminology is the social science field that is concerned with the study and analysis of crime. Criminologists study the origins of crime and then find ways to improve the treatment of both victims and offenders. Anchored in the field of Sociology, students complete course work in both Criminology and Sociology. Grasping the theory behind the science is only the beginning. You will use the knowledge gained as a Capital student to impact change for those you help and their communities.
